we're gearing up for some VERY exciting projects and thought we'd take a moment to re-introduce ourselves to you!

It's SO lovely to be back in your inbox after a hot minute there. If you can't remember who the fuck we are—that's fine. Let me reintroduce ourselves!

We are Pigeon Pigeon, an indie theatre collective doing fun and weird stuff from our home in Narrm. Our wanky blurb on our about page says that:

We make and produce work which could be described by a few of these adjectives: queer, site-specific, verbatim, stunning, accessible, weird, and soft. It’s a theatre which is intimate, soaked in sentimentality, and like our avian namesakes, found in the city’s cracks.

We recently updated our logo because we've got some exciting projects coming up soon, and we just think it's sooooo cute.

all credit goes to Geo Valentine (@siqtrix)!!!

These mascot pigeons were designed by a dear friend of ours: the always excellent Geo Valentine (@siqtrix). The pigeons use any pronouns and they LOVE to spend their time eating worms and being gay. Maybe you'll see them on merch soon 👀

You might have seen one of our previous shows at Melbourne Fringe. There was FUTURE in 2024 which we lovingly refer to as our flop because it didn't sell well (lol). In 2025 we returned to Melbourne Fringe with the experimental sound work The Shore Remembers and I Promise This Isn't About You (Even If It Feels Like It Is), which was by far and away our biggest hit. <3

That little show in a carpark about a bunch of young adults being fucking messes ended up being the very first show at Melbourne Fringe last year to sell out, and went on to take home the Melbourne Fringe Crowd Pleaser Award (YAY!!!) and even received not one, but TWO Green Room Award Nominations—for Sarah Matthew's writing, and Carly Watson's direction.

If you were a fan of I Promise then we've got some REALLY exciting news to share very soon.

In the interim, we've also been hard at work on a brand new show!

Georgie and I came up with this absolutely bonkers idea for a play and ever since then I have been hard at work writing draft after draft. Rehearsals started like a week ago and the team is just SO scrumptious!!! I'm not gonna say anything else about it just now BUT I will give you a sneak look at the promotional picture ;)

That's all we can say about what we're working on right now. But rest assured that sometime this weekend (after Melbourne Fringe's 2026 program launch hehe) I'll be in your inbox with all the juicy details and gossip (and some big fuck off ticket discounts too).

Chat soon!
