It feels pretty fucking surreal to be back in this carpark a year on, putting on the same little show with the same beautiful cast. Nothing's changed, but also everything has; as the playwright Sarah Matthews wrote in her writer's note.

This little show which started as a VCA grad show romanticising the mess of Sarah's friendships has bloomed into a gorgeous production directed by Carly Watson.

To repeat the humblebrag; we sold out last year, and repeated that every time we added capacity. Then, we went on to take home the 2025 Melbourne Fringe Crowd Pleaser Award, and finished it all off with two nominations at the 2026 Green Room Awards for writing and directing; Sarah and Carly's very first noms!

My favourite review from last year is probably this experimental one from Martha Latham, which—while barely a review—charts the struggle that it is putting on indie theatre. A struggle I'm very happy to do when we get to spend such magical moments with friends and strangers. My favourite non-weird review would have to be this one from Alannah Sue, which calls our show the "ultimate Fringe festival experience."

And hey, four stars too!

If you don't have your tickets for this return season, I would really love to make sure you get to see this little treasure of a show. At the end of the day—we're not doing this for money, so if money is tight for you, let me know! I am happy to sort you out a complimentary ticket or two; no questions asked.

That's all from me for the time being. If you're friends with anyone in the cast or crew, consider this your reminder to wish them a big chookas for tonight's opening! I'm sure they would love to hear from you.
